The outdoors provides an incredible classroom for fostering personal development in any individual. It gives people the chance to explore their own and others’ awareness, as well as a life direction, behaviors, habits and interpersonal skills. Outdoor education has become a huge educational movement around the world, helping thousands of men and women learn and find themselves in the process.
meridies® have more than 15 years combined of experience in the leading Outdoor Education programs in the USA through both, Outward Bound West (formerly Pacific Crest Outward Bound School) and the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). This extensive background, give us the experience and skills we need to design and deliver custom outdoor education programs aimed at organizations that work with students between 17 and 35 years old, many of whom are either in high school or college, or somewhere in between.
The experiential learning is the milieu we utilize to combine different curriculum such as outdoor living and travel skills, safety protocols, environmental ethics, leadership training and natural and cultural history of the places we visit in our programs.
meridies® have designed youth programs with specific needs that can be addressed utilizing the wilderness classroom setting, such as religious, ethnic, cultural, bonding, immersion, cohesiveness and fundraising. We work collaboratively with our client to establish specific outcomes for the program which can be evaluated afterwards.
