This is an extremely aesthetic cone-shaped Patagonian peak located in the Lake District. It is 3778 m (13,000 ft) high and can be climbed from September through April, in a 4 day program. It is surrounded by ancient Araucaria trees and placid lakes where you can enjoy a swim or catch a trout after getting yourself high in the mountain! Meridies also runs winter ski mountaineering trips on this mountain.

This ascent is ideal for the novice and porvides a good taste of Patagonian mountaineering for the experienced one. It is a non-technical climb of 1400 m (4,600 ft) from high camp. We recommend arriving in good physical shape. Participants will be expected to carry a 30 pounds load on talus, ice and snow to get to our high camp. Hiking times will be anywhere between 6 to 12 hrs.
Included:
All ground transportation, lodging in Junin de los Andes and camping in the mountain. All expedition meals, porters to carry group gear (tents, kitchen gear, food and fuel). Personal equipment included: helmets, crampons and ice axe. Group Gear: tents, first aid kits, communication devices, technical climbing gear: ropes, snow pro when needed, GPS, etc) and kitchen gear. The participant-guide ratio will be around 4:1, depending on the group size, usually groups of 3 to 10 individuals.
Not Included:
International and domestic flights, personal gear, meals in town and/or in transit. Alcoholic beverages.
Arrive in Chapelco Airport. Transfer to the charming Hostería Chimehuin in Junín de los Andes. Gear check.. Briefing with guides.

Hike in
Camp
Transfer to trail head and hike to camp at 2400 m (9,000 ft.) (4 hrs hike.). Porters will be able to help us carry our group gear. Snow school in the afternoon.

Summit bid
Camp
Summit climb. Start at Dawn and climb up the snow covered North Face of the peak with spectacular views of sunrise and the Patagonian Andes. This is a long and challenging day.

Descent
Hotel
We will continue down to the road. Optional flyfishing or swimming in the Tromen Lake. Transfer to our hotel. Shower and celebration dinner.
