Five volcanoes connected in a brilliant off-piste skiing, -Out of Bounds-, in the Lake District of Patagonia. Spring is the ideal time for ski touring on the snow covered volcanoes of the Argentine/Chilean lakes district. We will spend nine days travelling, climbing and skiing pristine slopes, surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes of Patagonia. With the exception of maybe one mountain, where we will spend one night in a small hut, all other nights are spent in the local hotels and mountain lodges.

Advanced skiing ability is required for this trip. We require possessing experience in skiing all snow conditions. We recommend a previous ski touring experience and an off-piste or out-of-bound experience.
Included:
All ground transfers, lodging in Hostels and Mountain Huts, all expedition meals, group gear: first aid kits, communication devices, shovels, probes and beacons, technical climbing gear when needed: crampons, ropes, snow pro when needed, GPS, etc. The participant-guide ratio will be around 4:1, depending on the group size, usually groups of 3 to 10 individuals

International and domestic flights, personal gear & skiing gear, meals in town and/or in transit & alcohol beverages.
Flight from Santiago to Temuco Int. airport. Welcome and briefing of activities. Gear check and transfer to the locale of Malalcahuello, in the centre of the Araucania region of Chile. We will use our free time to practice and check our beacons. Dinner in the hotel.

We will ascend and descend the Lonquimay volcano (2,890m.) e will Stara our ascent at 1,600m., normally a 3hrs ascent on snowy slopes.

We will leave early morning to the LLaima volcano (2,170m.), starting our ascent at 1,100m., and spending 6 to 7 hrs in ascending this impressive cone.

Resting day and transfer to the city of Pucón, to be in position for our next objective.

We will ascend y descend the active Villarrica volcano (2,860 m.). We’ll start our skinning up at 1,300 m. and we’ll append 4 hrs climbing to the top, in where we’ll contemplate the earth’s shinning magma. We will spend the rest of the day, relaxing in the area’s hot springs.

We will ride to the base of our next objective and hike 3hrs. to a mountain hut, in position for our next skiing day.

Hotel in Ensenada
We will ascend & descend the Puyehue volcano (2,600 m.). We will start our ascent at 1,300 m. and we’ll reach the summit in 3 hrs. We’ll enjoy the lunar landscape of snowy dunes and geysers. We’ll descend and ride to the town of Ensenada, at the base of our last objective.

We’ll ascend & descend the Osorno volcano (2,652m.), We’ll start our ascent at 1,300m. and reach the top in 4 hrs. Celebration dinner.
